Scottsdale is not the biggest city in Arizona and is not a big city in general, but it’s definitely a place worth visiting. People are drawn to Scottsdale by the good weather and by the 300 sunny days per year. The winter is also quite mild, with rains now and then, being a very good retreat for those that want to escape the blizzards in Chicago or New York, but don’t want the commotion of resorts in Florida or The Bahamas. This doesn’t come cheap, though, as Scottsdale is one of the most expensive cities in the country in terms of real estate and the most expensive in the state. Due to the high number of tourists, an international airport was built in town in the 1960s.
